Brazilian String Bikini
Are you torn between buying a Brazilian string bikini and a full bodied swimsuit?
Don’t be. Let us give you some great news. We are in the 21st century and fashion is changing all over the place. Look at how far women have come in terms of swimwear. It wasn’t until the 18th century that people even considered wearing “beachwear”. Normally all a person would do is throw on a tight fitting shirt and shorts and jump in the pool. That was your bathing suit. When clothing designers started making swimwear, of course, the idea was to cover up as much of the body as you possibly could yet still be able to enjoy the water. Some swimming outfits even consisted of pants because in some societies a woman, even in water, wasn’t allowed to show her knees. Imagine that.
Then came the era when women started wanting more freedom to express themselves. We have the women’s liberation movements, burning of the bra’s and women in the workforce which prompted additional self expression amongst females all over the world. They started to want to wear skimpy swimwear that showed off parts that their mothers and fathers said wasn’t allowed. It was liberating and freeing. The message was to be proud of your body no matter what.
These days pride has taken on a new meaning. Now, it’s all about showing your body. A woman can be super thin, chunky, heavy set or straight out fat and you will see them strolling the beaches wearing a bikini. They’ve earned the right. Be proud of yourself and remember the years of struggles and shame that women have endured fighting for the right. Wear skimpy beach wear every day of the year if you want to. It’s way over due.
